Tool Room Machinist/ Machine Tech

The Tool Room Machinist/Machine Tech is responsible for several duties at Presence from Innovation (PFI), you will be Responsible for the maintenance of all injection molds, including maintenance, revision, repair, polish, etc. needed, whether completed in house or at a vendor facility.

Responsibilities:

· Critique design and offer suggestions on all new injection tool builds.

· Performs repair / maintenance on all in-house tooling.

· Select Outside vendors when additional tooling assets are required.

· Get quotes done on all in-house tooling repairs as well as any mold revisions needed on existing tooling.

· Ability to do insert changes to all molds that have those features.

· Approve all completed work done by vendors before payments are finalized.

· Assist maintenance department as needed in close tolerance machining if needed.

· Keep records of dollars spent for repairs – revisions and report.

· May have occasion to polish, check molds while still in injection press.

· Possess critical thinking skills needed to solve tooling issues and direct repairs as needed.

· Supervisor back-up and offer suggestions to mold start up.

· Trouble-shooting machines/Tools.

Skills/Qualifications:

· Education Required/Preferred: Associates and or completed tooling apprenticeship or equivalent.

· Experience: 5 – 7 Years

· Preferred Skills/Qualifications: diagnose mold problems; use of manual mill, grinders, cut-off saws.

· Able to lift up to 45 lbs. Walking/standing for most hours of work day. Ability to use tools to assemble items.

· Requires a high level of creativity and problem solving as required to support production.
