Position & Schedule Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Instructor (Part-Time) to support TFHC’s Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This role provides classroom and hands-on instruction to Medical Assistant apprentices, supporting skill development, certification readiness, and professional growth.
For each incoming cohort, this role begins with two full-time onboarding weeks (40 hours/week, on-site). After onboarding, the schedule transitions to part-time, consisting of on-site instruction every Wednesday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional additional hours as needed. This schedule repeats for each new cohort. The position is fully on-site in Tampa, FL.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide instruction and clinical guidance to Medical Assistant apprentices
Deliver curriculum aligned with Medical Assisting standards and program requirements
Prepare and present instructional materials and lesson plans
Evaluate student progress, exams, and competencies
Maintain accurate documentation of attendance and performance
Support students with coaching, mentoring, and skills reinforcement
Participate in program meetings and curriculum improvement efforts
Ensure compliance with safety, accreditation, and organizational standards
Support TFHC’s Mission, Vision, and Values in all instructional activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN)
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of clinical healthcare experience
Prior teaching, training, or precepting experience required
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and instructional skills
Ability to engage and support adult learners
Very comfortable working in both classroom and clinical environments
Proficiency with EPIC (EHR) system and Microsoft Office
